Wisconsin AG Secured Penalty against Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul announced that he had secured a civil judgement against a concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO) for mismanaging manure and threatening public health. The AG’s complaint claimed that, on multiple occasions over three years, the CAFO spread manure in illegal areas and failed to prevent contaminated water from running off the property, violating the facility’s wastewater discharge permit. The CAFO was required to pay $225,000 in penalties.
