Wisconsin AG Secured Penalties for Construction Companies over Asbestos Safety Violations

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul secured a judgment requiring a group of companies to pay $75,000 in penalties for violations that occurred during demolition and construction at a U-Haul facility in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. In a press release, Attorney General Kaul’s office explained that the companies failed to “inspect for asbestos before starting renovation work; remove and adequately wet asbestos before disturbing it; and have a representative trained in asbestos handling and removal present during the renovation work.”
