Wisconsin AG Filed Charges against CAFO Operator for False Reports and E. coli Contamination

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul filed charges against the owner and operators of a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) for submitting false reports to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. According to the complaint, the owner and operators submitted a document falsely reporting how much manure they spread on their fields, underreporting by almost 2 million gallons. In reality, the amount of manure they spread greatly exceeded the amount allowed by the facility’s permit, resulting in severe E. coli contamination in Lake Michigan.
