Washington and Oregon AGs Filed a Petition for Review of FERC’s Certification of GTN Xpress Pipeline Expansion Project

Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson and Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum filed a petition for review of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) order issuing a certificate for Gas Transmission Northwest’s proposed pipeline expansion project (GTN Xpress Project), which would expand the capacity of an existing natural gas pipeline. The AGs argued that the “construction and operation of the expansion project will increase air pollution, harm wildlife[,] increase safety hazards to state-owned property near the pipeline,” and “increase greenhouse gas emissions in Washington and Oregon, which will exacerbate climate change harms.”
