Twelve AGs Urged Senators to Oppose Regulatory Rollbacks That Would Jeopardize Americans’ Health & Safety

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman led a coalition of 12 attorneys general in sending a letter to U.S. Senate leaders urging them to oppose Senate Bill 951, the Regulatory Accountability Act of 2017, which they warned “promises to bring it to a grinding halt and shows a cynical indifference to the protection, health, and safety of the American people.” The attorneys general made clear that the bill would “waylay regulations that protect Americans from toxic exposure, predatory market practices, dangerous labor conditions, unsafe food and drugs, and other harmful conditions,” and urged the Senators to oppose its passage.
