Thirteen AGs Urged EPA to Impose Restrictions on Pesticide that Threatens Bees

California Attorney General Rob Bonta led 13 attorneys general in filing comments to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) calling for certain restrictions on the use of sulfoxaflor, a pesticide that is toxic to bees and other pollinators. The AGs urged EPA to restrict the use of sulfoxaflor based on the proximity and presence of pollinators, and emphasized the importance of protecting pollinators in order to preserve the agricultural production, natural resources, and ecosystems of the states in the coalition. The AGs also called on EPA to conduct further research on the harmful effects these pesticides have on both humans and the environment.
