Thirteen AGs Sent Letter Demanding Immediate Withdrawal of EPA’s Glider Truck Rule
JULY 13, 2018
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra led a coalition of 13 attorneys general in submitting a letter opposing the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new guidance on its Glider Truck rule, which limits the number of new, high polluting “glider” truck sales per year. In their letter, the attorneys general demanded that EPA Acting Administrator Andrew Wheeler end the agency’s “de facto suspension” of the Glider Truck rule, a decision the attorneys general emphasized is “clearly unlawful.” The coalition warned that the EPA’s decision would have a dramatic and detrimental impact on the environment and public health, based on the agency’s own data.
