Ten AGs Filed Amicus Brief in Support of Rehearing in Litigation Over EPA Phase-Out of Hydrofluorocarbons

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra led a coalition of 10 attorneys general in filing an amicus brief “in support of the efforts by the Natural Resources Defense Council and private businesses Honeywell International and Chemour to have the full D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals rehear a case” related to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) phase-out of hydrofluorocarbons, a family of potent greenhouse gases. In announcing the amicus brief, AG Becerra emphasized that the case could have “national and international ramifications” based on its implications for the EPA’s authority to address climate change.
