Six AGs Sent Comments Urging EPA to Protect Agricultural Workers from Pesticides

New York Attorney General Letitia James led a coalition of six attorneys general in submitting comments on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed rule that would protect agricultural and other workers from exposure to pesticides. The proposal would restore certain required Application Exclusion Zones that had been removed in 2020; these zones prohibit most workers from being near areas where pesticides are actively being applied. The AGs explained the dangers that pesticide exposure poses to the health of agricultural workers, and offered specific recommendations for how EPA could strengthen the rule.
