Seventeen AGs Filed Comments Urging Energy Department to Undo 2020 Process Rule

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra led a coalition of 17 attorneys general in responding to the Department of Energy’s proposal to restore much of the pre-2020 Process Rule, encouraging DOE to swiftly adopt the proposal and take additional steps to undo the remaining changes enacted by the 2020 Process Rule. The 2020 Process Rule revised the existing energy efficiency Process Rule, which outlined the process DOE follows when developing energy conservation standards for covered appliance products under the Energy Policy and Conservation ACT.
