Rhode Island AG Enforced Lead Rules against Landlords

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha announced that his office filed four lawsuits against landlords whose properties were found to be violating state lead poisoning prevention laws and exposing children to lead in their homes. The AG sought a court order that will require the landlords to correct lead violations in their properties, provide accommodations for residents during clean-ups, and establish monetary penalties for the landlords if they fail to comply.
