Pennsylvania AG Filed Lawsuits against Chemical Companies, Including DuPont, over PFAS Manufacturing

Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry filed a lawsuit against three chemical manufacturing companies, including DuPont, over the manufacturing of manufacturing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)—also known as “forever chemicals”—that have polluted the state, harming residents, natural resources, and wildlife in the state. Specifically, the lawsuit discussed the companies’ production of aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF)—or “firefighting foam”—that contained PFAS. In a statement, AG Henry said: “For decades, these companies have known of the dangers and damages these products can inflict on humans, animals, and our natural resources. Pennsylvanians have a right to breathe clean air and drink clean water. This civil action seeks recovery of costs related to cleaning up these harmful chemicals, as well as penalties against companies who have chosen to look the other way.”
