Pennsylvania AG Charged Sanitation Company for Violating Solid Waste Management Act

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro charged a sanitation and sewage disposal company for violating the Solid Waste Management Act. To cut down on costs, the company stored waste treatment byproducts on site rather than disposing of it properly offsite, which is required by law. The company did this for four years before selling the site to a new owner, who discovered the waste.
