Pennsylvania AG Charged Fracking Company for Leaks
JUNE 10, 2022
Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced criminal charges against a fracking company and two of its employees for improperly managing waste fluids at multiple fracking sites, thereby contaminating nearby water sources, including residential drinking water. The charges alleged that, in addition to failing to address leaks from 13 different drilling sites, employees also buried waste instead of following disposal protocols and covered up the evidence of a separate waste spill rather than properly clean it up.
