Ohio AG Secured Settlement over Illegal Pollution of River

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost reached a settlement with a man for illegally handling dredged materials that resulted in erosion and pollution of a river. During intermittent periods beginning in 2001, the man piled dredged materials at different points along the bank of the river, causing accelerated erosion and endangering aquatic species. “This polluter dumped eight mountains of muck along one of Ohio’s scenic rivers and left the mess for someone else to clean up. The money from this agreement will reverse years of damage and restore this section of the river to pristine condition,” said AG Yost in a statement.
