Nineteen AGs Urged EPA to Strengthen Truck Emissions Standards
MAY 16, 2022
California Attorney General Rob Bonta led a coalition of 19 attorneys general in comments to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) urging strong updates to truck emissions standards. The coalition implored the agency to move quickly and to choose the first of the two regulatory options presented by the agency. The first option would initially increase standards for new trucks in 2027 and again in 2031, while the second option would only set a standard one time in 2027—resulting in fewer reductions than the first option.
