New Jersey AG Sued Owners of Contaminated Industrial Site

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against the owners of the site of Orange Automotive after they failed to comply with DEP order to clean up contamination resulting from unsafe underground storage tanks. The lawsuit sought to enforce DEP’s order, which also required additional remediation measures, as well as payment of fees, costs, and an administrative penalty. This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
