New Jersey AG Sued Owner of Various Gas Stations for Environmental Violations Related to Underground Fuel Storage

Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against Chatterpal Singh, the owner of three gas station properties that contain 10 underground fuel storage tanks that are out of service and violate environmental regulations, according to the complaint. The lawsuit sought to compel the owner to “to remove all 10 out-of-service storage tanks in compliance with the [DEP’s previous order], investigate potential contamination at the sites, and pay civil penalties.” This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
