New Jersey AG Sued Dry Cleaning Company over PCE Contamination of Soil and Groundwater

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against Frimair (America) East, Inc. and its owners and operators for allegedly dumping dry cleaning fluid onto the ground, resulting in perchloroethylene (PCE) contamination of nearby soil and groundwater. The lawsuit sought to compel the defendants to comply with a prior DEP directive and to remediate the site. This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
