New Jersey AG Sued Company for Failing to Take Remediation Steps after Gas Spills from Underground Tanks

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against Martin Service Center Corp. seeking to enforce two DEP orders requiring the company to remove underground storage tanks that caused a hazardous gasoline spill in 1990. In addition to seeking compliance with the orders, the lawsuit also sought civil penalties. This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
