New Jersey AG Sued Company for Failing to Address Volatile Solvent in Potable Well Water

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against ESCO Products, Inc. for failing to address hazardous substances in potable well water at its site in Oak Ride after discovering it via sampling many years prior. The lawsuit sought to “compel the company to remediate the discharges of hazardous substances and to recover the costs it incurred and will incur to remediate the properties and surrounding areas.” This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
