New Jersey AG Sued Auto Recycling Company over Illegal Pollution

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against Auto Scrap, Inc. over allegations that the company has polluted nearby soil and groundwater with oil and other contaminants, and has failed to comply with previous DEP orders requiring the company to address the pollution. The lawsuit sought to require Auto Scrap to comply with the previous orders. This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
