New Jersey AG Sued Auto Company for Failing to Comply with Order Related to Underground Storage Tanks

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against Zebs Auto Service & Detailing, Inc. for failing to comply with a 2022 DEP directive ordering the company to to shut down its unused underground storage tanks, as well as investigate and remediate any contamination related to the tanks. The lawsuit sought enforcement of the order as well as payment of initial and additional penalties. This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
