New Jersey AG Reached Settlement with Recycling Company over Illegal Pollution

Acting New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, along with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), reached a settlement with a recycling and manufacturing facility operator, State Metals, resolving citations from DEP “related to plant emissions in violation of its operating permit, leaks from damaged equipment, stack test failures and the processing of raw materials other than aluminum.” Under the settlement, the company will pay a $40,720 penalty.
