New Jersey AG Filed Lawsuit over Pollution at Shipyard

Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against various parties responsible for contamination at Camden Shipyard, which is located along the banks of the Delaware River. Among the pollutants found at the site were PCBs, PHCs, toluene, fuel oil, and heavy metals. The lawsuit sought a court order requiring current and previous owners to halt discharges, remediate the site, and pay penalties. This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
