New Jersey AG Filed Lawsuit over Hazardous Underground Storage of Motor Fuel

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against various owners and operators affiliated with a Gas Mart site in East Orange over allegations that the four underground motor fuel storage tanks at the site are not properly maintained, tested, or registered. The lawsuit sough compliance with a previous DEP order as well as civil penalties. This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
