New Jersey AG Filed Lawsuit over Hazardous Pollution at Gas Station

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against Sasdelli Oil Company, Inc., its owner, and various affiliated entities over alleged contamination at the Main Road Citgo gas station property in Vineland, including hazardous levels of benzene, MTBE, toluene, lead, and other dangerous petroleum-related chemicals. The lawsuit sought “a court order directing the defendants to remediate the property, pay civil penalties and reimburse DEP for related costs incurred by the State.” This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
