New Jersey AG Filed Lawsuit over Contamination from Unlicensed Auto Recycling Facility

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal, along with the Department of Environmental Protection, filed a lawsuit against Hyman Concrete & Construction, LLC and affiliated owners over alleged illegal operations of an automotive recycling facilitiy, which contaminated nearby properties and possibly put the nearby drinking water supply at risk. The lawsuit sought to “compel the defendants to perform required corrective actions, remediate the site, and pay civil penalties for their failure to properly operate and remediate.” This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
