New Jersey AG Filed Lawsuit against Gas Service Station for Failing to Address Gas & Diesel Spills

Acting New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, along with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), filed a lawsuit against B & S Oil Corporation and other affiliated owners and operators of a gas service station in Rahway for the illegal discharge of gasoline and diesel fuel into nearby soil, and subsequent failure to remediate the contamination. The lawsuit sought a court order requiring remediation and civil penalties. This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
