New Jersey AG Filed Lawsuit against Dry Cleaning Companies over PCE Contamination

Acting New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, along with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), filed a lawsuit against Hans Family Cleaners, Inc. and other dry cleaning companies—as well as their owners—that occupied the same property in Elmwood Park Borough for failing to address PCE contamination. The lawsuit sought remediation and civil penalties. This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
