New Jersey AG Filed Lawsuit against Coal Ash Site for Dumping Contaminated Waste

Acting New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, along with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), filed a lawsuit against the owners and operators of a former coal ash disposal site on Tremley Point Road for illegally dumping contaminated fill at the site. The lawsuit sough civil penalties as long as compliance with prior DEP directives. This action was part of a tranche of lawsuits taken as part of the New Jersey AG Office’s environmental justice initiative.
