New Jersey AG Filed Lawsuit against Chemical Company for 1,4 Dioxane Contamination

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin, along with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the Division of Consumer Affairs, filed a lawsuit against a group of chemical companies—including Dow Chemical Company, Ferro Corporation, and Vulcan Materials Company—for violating environmental and consumer protection laws by contaminating natural resources with 1,4 dioxane across the state. 1,4-dioxane is a widely used solvent that poses a harm to human health and the environment. The lawsuit seeks both natural resource and punitive damages, as well as other damages and penalties.
