Minnesota AG Testified on ESG at House Judiciary Committee Hearing

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison testified before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations in investing. AG Ellison stated that “antitrust law does not prohibit businesses or individuals from exercising their First Amendment right to work together to influence legislative or regulatory policy.” He emphasized consumers’ interest in ESG, calling on the success of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification as an example of consumers positively engaging with responsible commitments made by industry participants.
