Minnesota AG Helped Secure Lower Electricity Rate Hikes

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office helped secure a reduction in the rate hike requested by Xcel Energy. Following AGO staff’s participation in the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission’s proceeding on the case, the Commission voted to lower the rate increase from $678 million to $372 million, cutting Xcel’s request by over half.
