Michigan AG Submitted Reply Comments on FERC’s “Building for the Future” Rulemaking

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, along with the Citizens Utility Board of Michigan, submitted reply comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on the agency’s notice of proposed rulemaking on “Building for the Future Through Electric Regional Transmission Planning and Cost Allocation and Generator Interconnection.” In her comments, AG Nessel again urged FERC to have specific, mandatory requirements for the costs, benefits, and scenarios that transmission providers must consider when creating planning policies. AG Nessel built on her initial comments by providing an additional example of such guidelines, and also responded to other parties’ initial comments that advocated for voluntary guidelines.
