Michigan AG Filed Lawsuit against Contractor for Wetlands Destruction

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel filed a lawsuit against a contracting company, its operator, and its director for illegal destruction of wetlands. The company, which transports and disposes of waste from the processing of sugar beets, allegedly drained over five acres of protected wetlands and filled the area with the waste. The lawsuit seeks the restoration of the wetlands and accountability under the Michigan Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act.
