MARCH 28, 2022
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy against Holloo Farms, a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) in Michigan. The complaint alleged that the company polluted the Kalamazoo River and surrounding water bodies with bacteria and other pathogens from animal waste. The repeated action threatens human health and the environment and AG Nessel sought an order for civil fines and an end to future discharges.
