Michigan AG Announced that Civil Settlement in Flint Water Crisis Case Was Approved by Court

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that the Genesee County Circuit Court approved the state’s civil settlement in the Flint water crisis case. Payments under the settlement included $600 million from the state of Michigan, $20 million from the City of Flint, $5 million from McLaren Regional Medical Center, and $1.25 million from Rowe Professional Services Co. According to the preliminary agreement, 80% of those payments will go towards claims of minors exposed to contaminated water.
