Michigan AG Announced Settlement that Will Reduce Use of Coal in the State

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced a proposed settlement agreement with Consumers Energy Company, a gas and electric utility, in its integrated resource planning case before the Michigan Public Service Commission. If approved, the settlement will end the utility’s use of coal by 2025. In addition, the settlement will also require the company to increase its solar power capacity substantially.
