Michigan AG Advocated for Reasonable Utility Rates

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel participated in a recent case before the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) which resulted in a settlement that required Consumers Energy Company to reduce its requested rate increase by over $100 million. Consumers Energy filed a request with the MPSC looking to increase annual revenues by $278.4 million, which would have increased rates for consumers by 12.5%. The AG filed a testimony with the Commission to reduce the rate increase by $140 million, and settled with Consumers for reduction of roughly $107 million.
