Massachusetts AG Sued Industrial Site over Asbestos

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey announced a lawsuit against the owner of a Salem industrial site and its former managers for mismanagement of asbestos. While redeveloping a site, the contractor demolished industrial buildings that contained asbestos without notifying the Massachusetts Department of Environment Protection, and illegally left and disposed the mineral fiber in soil creating a release of hazardous materials in the area.
