Massachusetts AG Secured Settlements With Developers Over Unsafe and Unlawful Asbestos Removal Activities

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey secured settlements with several property developers and environmental consulting companies over asbestos removal activities conducted in an unsafe manner and without proper state oversight. The violations stemmed from demolition and renovation work at a residential and commercial building in downtown Worcester, MA. Under the terms of the settlement, the companies had to pay a total of $500,000 in penalties.
