Massachusetts AG Filed Request for Rehearing in Proceeding on ISO-New England Fuel Security Issue

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey requested rehearing of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) decision to investigate whether the market rules of ISO-New England needed to be changed to address a perceived fuel security problem. In this proceeding, a utility had sought waiver of certain rules to allow it to keep natural gas generating facilities open, even though they would not be economic, for fuel security reasons. Although FERC declined to grant the waiver, FERC did agree to take up the broader fuel security issue.
