Massachusetts AG Filed Brief in Support of State’s 2019-2021 Joint Statewide Energy Efficiency Plan

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey filed a brief to the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities in support of Massachusetts’s 2019-2021 Joint Statewide Energy Efficiency Plan. Among other demand reduction and efficiency measures, the plan notably includes new fuel switching incentives to encourage consumers to move away from heating fuels like oil and propane, toward “more efficient and affordable heating fuels and technologies such as air source heat pumps.” State officials estimate the plan will yield $8 billion in ratepayer savings, as well as reductions in peak energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions.
