Massachusetts AG Charged Company over Illegal Asbestos Work and Worker Safety Violations

Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell announced the indictment of an environmental services company over improper asbestos removal work. According to the charges, the company and its owners unlawfully removed asbestos and illegally transported uncovered asbestos, violating the Massachusetts Clean Air Act. Additionally, the owners were charged with reckless assault and battery in connection with an incident that occurred during the asbestos work in which a worker fell several stories through a roof after “being repeatedly denied protective safety equipment.”
