Massachusetts AG Sued Construction Company for Unsafe and Illegal Asbestos Work

On July 20, 2021, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey filed a lawsuit against a three companies alleging illegal and unsafe work on water lines that contained asbestos, and illegal storage of asbestos waste. The AG’s office reached a settlement with one of the companies in February 2023; the company agreed to pay $225,000 in civil penalties, and must properly train its employees to handle asbestos safely.
