Maryland AG Announced Sentencing against Man for Illegal Tire Dumping

Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh announced a sentencing in a case of illegal tire dumping that his office had been investigating. A man had been depositing scrap tires into the woods, rather than bringing them to an approved facility, likely to avoid disposal fees. If not properly disposed, scrap tires can pollute nearby air and water, in addition to posing other safety hazards. The sentencing included three years of probation, 100 hours of community service, and a nearly $18,000 penalty.
