Iowa AG Filed a Lawsuit against a Biofuel Company Following Explosion

Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird filed a lawsuit against a biofuel company following a large explosion in December and subsequent fire. According to the petition, contaminants from the damaged facility had been found in the nearby environment leading to an emergency order by Iowa’s Department of Natural Resources, which the company had not complied with at the time of the lawsuit. The lawsuit sought an injunction ordering the company to comply with the order and other state environmental laws.
