Illinois AG Threatened Litigation Over EPA’s Ozone NAAQS Attainment Designation for Racine County
MAY 4, 2018
Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan announced her intention to file a lawsuit challenging EPA’s designation that Wisconsin’s Racine County is in attainment with the 2015 National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for ozone, despite air quality data indicating that the region is in non-attainment. The EPA’s designation would allow Foxconn, which plans to build a large manufacturing plant in the county, to avoid installing emissions controls.
