Illinois AG Filed Lawsuit and Consent Orders over Illegal Air Pollution at Chemical Manufacturing Facility

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul filed a lawsuit against the current and former owners of a chemical manufacturing facility for emitting hazardous air pollutants beyond legally-permitted levels. AG Raoul also filed two consent orders, requiring a total of $178,000 in penalties, which the defendants agreed to in court, resolving the allegations in the lawsuit. Additionally, the current owner, Kensing LLC, was required under the consent order to construct a new pollution control system at its facility in accordance with its permit issued by the Illinois EPA.
